Earl Grey Hot Chocolate
This post is dedicated to cheeky ‘Winter‘ who teased us by popping back for a quick visit this week. Spring… be strong and get ontop of your game! Because of this …the cool smoothie and home made cider ideas were put on hold (stay tuned.. got some goodies on my list to do!) and hot beverages were back on my mind. I saw a version of hot chocolate on the stylish lifestyle blog At Home with Kim Vallée via the blog of Fisher & Paykel and had to have some!
The earl grey infused into the hot milk adds a lovely spicy flavour and using dark chocolate makes it nice and rich. It’s basically a matter of warming up milk , infusing it with the tea and then adding it to a heat proof glass like the ‘comfort’ with a few squares of dark chocolate on the bottom. The hot milk melts the chocolate, just give it a stir to mix it right through. I think next time I might infuse the milk and then steam it up slightly with my coffee machine frother and then…bingo..a chai latté -chocolate and earl grey flavour. Could I infuse the milk then store it in the fridge ready to froth when I need? Hmm food for thought.
